A self-initiated film in which the nazar battu — the demon face hung on houses and trucks across India to turn away the evil eye — walks through the country it is meant to be protecting. A pothole, the price of petrol, a collapsed bridge, a politician’s face printed on a paper plate, traffic that will not stop. Hindi supers carry the commentary, and the film closes on its own warning.
